Arriving into Tonga was a bit surreal, it has been a place on our radar from many years now.  Spending time here swimming with humpback whales, mostly mothers and calves is such a magical and unique experience.  I have been so fortunate with my work, it affords us the chance to travel to many amazing places, but these encounters are beyond words.

On our first encounter with a young humpback, a mere two weeks old, we cried out in joy as she tried to breach time and time again, playing and twisting in the water in front of us.  The ocean and its inhabitants are a gift to witness, enjoying moments like these in the water is life changing.

Staying on a private island with only twelve other people on it was certainly icing on our lovely cake.  Thank you, Tonga.  See you again in a couple weeks, for now we are off to New Zealand to explore the North and South Islands.
